The people behind the work
Built by people who have stood the watch.
Simpli-FI Logistics is a two-person operation by design. Hunter is a fire captain at Denton FD and a Marine Captain in the Reserve. Lindsey is a former pediatric ER nurse and the founder of Simpli-FI Life LLC. We built this because we got tired of watching good captains burn out doing work the city should have bought as a service.
Hunter Lott
Founder · Fire Captain · USMC Reserve
I started at Denton FD in 2015. Captain since 2022. A-shift. Engine company. The work is rotations, training, calls, and the off-shift work nobody sees.
In parallel I run a Marine reserve unit as an O-3. The military reserve does not pause when you are tired or when your day job is heavy. It teaches you that the difference between a competent operation and a sloppy one is the work that gets done before anyone shows up.
I am also a registered investment adviser. I run Simpli-FI Alpha LLC, which is the family RIA. I learned operating discipline from regulated finance: every dollar has a paper trail, every decision has a sign-off, every chain of custody can be audited. Procurement should be no different.
I built Simpli-FI Logistics because I have lived the other side of it. I have watched captains spend their off-shift time chasing vendors. I have stood in a station bay on opening day next to the wrong recliner. I know what the 3am phone call sounds like.
I spent the first decade of my career as a pediatric ER nurse. That work teaches you one habit above all others: when chaos hits, one person calls the room. Not three. One.
After I left the ER, I built Simpli-FI Life LLC into a digital organization business. My clients are families and small businesses who hire me to take a messy system, get one operator in charge, and hand it back working. Same instinct as the trauma bay, different room.
Concierge is the same playbook applied to fire station procurement. I am the one operator. The captains do not chase quotes. The chief does not get the 3am call. The freight company does not get to hand the problem back to your battalion.
When a piece of furniture is damaged, I am the one filing the claim before anyone on your end hears about it. When two captains disagree on the conference table, I give the chief a written summary so he can decide in two minutes, not two weeks. When opening day comes, the boxes are in the right rooms, the paperwork is in one binder, and your team gets to be on the rig.

Why a two-person team
Small enough to actually know your station. Small enough to actually deliver.
Most procurement vendors lose your station inside an account-manager rotation. You meet a salesperson. They hand you to an account rep. The account rep hands you to a coordinator. The coordinator quits. Now you are starting over and your opening date has not moved.
We are deliberately two operators. Lindsey runs every buy. Hunter is on the rig and in the planning room. The captain who votes on the recliners hears back from Lindsey, not from a queue.
We will say no to the second station before we let it compromise the first. When we add a third operator, we will tell you who she is and how we trained her. We are not building a national brokerage. We are building a service that fire departments trust because the operator answers her phone.
What we will not do
The four rules we run on.
No vendor kickbacks.
We take a flat fee and a savings share. Vendors do not pay us to win your line item. You see every invoice, vendor name, and price. If we ever start taking referral fees from a manufacturer, we tell you in writing first or we stop.
No margin spreads.
We do not buy the recliner for $4,000 and bill you $5,500. We pass the vendor price through and earn our 15% only on the gap between your stated budget and what you actually paid. If we do not save you money, we do not earn this fee.
No captain receiving party.
Lindsey is the signing party on the BOL for every delivery. Your captain is not on the hook when a piece shows up damaged at 9am. The freight claim is in Lindsey’s name.
No overpromising on capacity.
If we cannot deliver the next station without compromising the current one, we tell you when we can. Sometimes the honest answer is "not this quarter." We would rather lose the contract than miss your opening day.
Talk to Lindsey.
Bring your floor plan and your budget. 30-minute call. You leave with a written next step, whether you hire us or not.
